Overview:
Greater Nevada Credit Union is looking for a Loss Mitigation Specialist with a passion for Helping More People Live Greater.

About The Position:

The Loss Mitigation Specialist is responsible for supporting the overall Risk Management department by handling a variety of responsibilities that include conducting loss mitigation functions that impact department performance ratios (delinquency) relative to a variety of accounts. The position is responsible for helping to reduce losses for the credit union by managing a portfolio of accounts, minimizing risk exposure by focusing on collections of defaulted loans both in pre-collections, collections, and recovery.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare payment agreements for negative share accounts and follow-up on payments.
  • Review and analyze transactions and create reports for Federal BSA filing.
  • Respond to consumer credit disputes and credit bureau exceptions.
  • Coordinate payment arrangements with members and follow up in a timely manner on such arrangements, properly documenting accounts as contact with each member is made.
  • Assist with card disputes and fraud investigations.
  • Coordinate and process bankruptcy litigation.
  • Promote Loan Modifications and Deferments to support GNCU’s membership and contribute to a reduction of overall delinquencies by negotiating solutions that are mutually beneficial to the client and Company.
  • Perform logistical, organizational, and report generation duties to support the efficient operation of the assigned areas of expertise, to include the preparation and maintenance of needed reports, tracking statistical information for those reports and balancing the identified reports.
  • Conduct a variety of activities relative to collateral repossession and disposal as well as processing efforts relative to total loss of vehicles. Such activities will include researching collateral values, documenting each process and maintaining appropriate records.
