JOB PURPOSE

The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the daily operation of all food and beverage outlets and coordinates with the Food and Beverage Director and Chef to provide courteous and timely service to our members and guests by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is also responsible for keeping the lines of communication open and reporting to the Food and Beverage Director. Glen Echo is a private golf and country club operation that has 18 holes to offer to its members and their guests, along with other amenities we offer.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example, creating a fun and stable environment; setting a benchmark of performance in the areas of innovation, motivation, and animation, encouraging team members to be successful, including corrective actions when necessary.
  • Staff for and oversee daily restaurant operations along with all planned or special events. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is also responsible for staffing and overseeing the daily operation of our halfway house. Be hospitable and provide excellent customer service to our members, their guests, and our team members.
  • Will conduct a monthly physical inventory of all cost items.
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, supervising, and training employees. Ensure staff roles and expectations are clearly defined and employees are held accountable for their performance.
  • Ensure that superior standards of food service and quality always meet the requirements of our members and their guests.
  • Coordinate with other key department heads, as it relates to cooperative efforts surrounding planning, scheduling, special events, and implementation of club functions, including aquatic, golf, and tennis events.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Food and Beverage Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Proficient knowledge of wine and wine service, including menu suggestions.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Can perform duties of all positions within the department, including serving, bussing, hosting, and expediting.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Minimum four years’ experience in restaurants or private clubs and two years supervising staff.
  • Must be able to spend several hours standing up or walking.
  • Demonstrates good knowledge of food preparation.
  • Displays Good knowledge of cocktail and wine service.

Job Type: Full-time


Salary: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
