Job Description

Job Function: This position provides day-to-day management of assigned championships and is responsible for implementing the policies and procedures that govern the designated championships, as determined by the respective NCAA sport committee and appropriate divisional oversight committee.

Job Responsibilities    

  • Provide training of NCAA technology programs (online score reporting, selection/bracketing software, committee collaboration zone, RPI reporting system) with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership to assigned sports committees and coordinate the selection and assignment of teams/individuals, sites, and officials for the championships by following established principles and guidelines.
  • Conduct site visits to appropriately plan for championships and to ensure consistent application of championship policies and procedures.
  • Edit and oversee the accurate and timely annual production and posting of championship manuals for assigned sports.
  • Identify, manage, and train site representatives selected to serve at preliminary round competition.
  • Develop meeting agendas and supplementary materials, write, and distribute meeting reports, and prepare necessary follow-up correspondence.
  • Correspond (both in writing and on the telephone) with administrators, coaches, student-athletes, parents, and the general public regarding various topics related to the NCAA championships.
  • Serve on assigned project teams for key initiatives within championships and alliances.
  • Plan and conduct the championships and related activities within the budget established. Manage budgets for each championship, including internal financial reports and forecasting, and the review, adjustments, and approval of budgets/settlements with preliminary round and finals site hosts.
  • Conduct videoconferences with and develop and distribute championships materials to host institutions and local organizing committees for the purpose of championship planning.
  • Serve as primary staff liaison of assigned governing sports committees and provide effective, efficient daily coordination, facilitation, and leadership of the championship, including but not limited to:

  • Assist in the management of issues by meeting with constituent groups, attending coaches’ association meetings/conventions.

Job Requirements      

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Education of a Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Association’s structure, function, and mission.
  • Estimated Travel Required <10%
  • Three to five years’ experience in intercollegiate athletics administration required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship skills, both interpersonal and leading a group.
