Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Manage the accounting, payroll, transportation and purchasing functions. Assist the Executive Director of Business Services and Human Resources with various operational and administrative responsibilities.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Executive Director of Business Services and Human Resources
Supervises: Staff members as designated by the Executive Director of Business Services
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
● Oversee the bi-weekly district-wide payroll processing.
● Prepare and/or review various state and federal payroll reports, forms and payments.
● Supervise the Payroll Clerk including training, coaching and evaluating.
● Manage the district's fiduciary fund including, preparing checks, reconciling funds, processing reimbursement and filing reports.
● Manage the accounts receivable function; receipts and reconciles all incoming funds and
processes weekly bank deposits from each school.
● Oversee the accounts payables and purchasing functions and provide guidance to the A/P and
Purchasing Clerk.
● Manage the district's collection agency referral activities.
● Assist with the annual audit.
● Manage the district's transportation program including student eligibility, bus routes, billing and
local and state reporting.
● Manage relationships with the transportation provider including monthly meetings, contractual
negotiations and evaluation of services.
● Coordinate reconciliation of student activity accounts.
● Provide assistance to the Executive Director of Business Services and Human Resources with
general operating issues such as budget preparation and daily trouble-shooting and serve as
back-up to the Executive Director of Business Services and Human Resources as needed.
● Maintain professional and technical knowledge related to payroll and accounting to facilitate
district compliance and efficiency.
● Perform other responsibilities and assist with special projects as needed.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

● Knowledge of school budgets, bookkeeping methods, and accounting principles.
● Ability to analyze and reconcile accounts.
● Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, address multiple tasks simultaneously, perform numerous
functions, and assume responsibility for completion of tasks.
● Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively, both orally and in
writing.
● Demonstrate ability to work well with others.
● Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
● Ability to operate a personal computer and mainframe and spreadsheet experience.
● Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school
community.
● Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education
policies.
● Ability to operate Excel spreadsheets and read graphs
QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field is required.
● Three or more years of payroll, accounting, or general office operations/administrative experience
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Previous work experience in an educational institution is beneficial.
