- Provide planning and evaluation support to the Director through the provision of cost/benefit analysis, profit/loss statements and revenue projections for selected UREC programs and services, as required. Prepare annual budgets for presentation to university administration. Provide periodic reports to key stakeholders relative to current budget levels as required.
- Develop and supervise procedures for all departmental purchases and expenditures, provide training, feedback and support to staff, and act as liaison with University budget and business offices. Responsible for supervision of departmental credit cards and accounts.
- Provide leadership and expertise to the department for all budget and fiscal operations including payroll, procurement, budgets and account reconciliation. Responsible for daily business functions including cash reconciliations, billing, deposits and receivables for all UREC programs and operations. Monitor and approve all departmental expenditures, in compliance with University Policy. Provide leadership, training, supervision and evaluation of the UREC Payroll & Budget Manager (full-time) and Fiscal Support Technician (part-time).
- Conduct training workshops for departmental staff relative to budget development and business functions. Serve as resource person for sport club budgets, including portion that comes from ASG. Participate in departmental and divisional functions and represent the department on appropriate committees.
- Reconcile organizational accounts including comprehensive fee codes, special funds, foundation and agency accounts. Implement/maintain coding system to identify charges within specific departmental program/service areas, and provide feedback to staff.
- Demonstrated ability to be organized, efficient, and with attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two or more years of related full-time experience
- Experience creating, interpreting and enforcing budget procedures related to revenue, billing, deposits and receivables
- Experience training and supervising staff
- Ability to work collaboratively on a diverse team
- Master’s Degree or advanced education in accounting, business, or related field
- Experience managing large, multi-faceted budgets

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, the university police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures, protocols for the immediate notification of students and staff upon confirmation of a significant emergency on campus and other matters of importance related to security and safety. The report includes statistics for the most recent three-year period of reported crimes that have occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by JMU or its affiliates; and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes campus housing fire statistics for the most recent three-year period, a description of each on-campus student housing facility fire safety system, the number of fire drills held during the previous calendar year, policies or rules on portable electrical appliances, smoking, and open flames in student housing; and procedures for student housing evacuation in the event of fire along with other fire safety information.
