Salary: $71,926.00 - $94,265.00 Annually

This position is open for current Regular Full Time County employees only.


The Assistant Director - Contracts writes, manages, maintains, and reviews all County contracts to keep the County and vendor in compliance with all laws, ordinances, policies, terms and conditions of all work being performed.


HIRING SALARY RANGE: $71,926 - $94,265

Duties And Responsibilities


  • Stays abreast of the County Contract ordinance and the business legal environment.
  • The Assistant Director of Contracts, leads and directs the Contracts staff.
  • Performs the duties of the Procurement & Contracts Director and assumes responsibility for the Department when the Director is unavailable.
  • Conduct audits on all contracts within the County.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and monitors all contract administration productivity and reports.
  • Reviews and approves all contracts.
  • Procures information technology goods and services for entire County.
  • Reviews and tracks all expiring contracts and those up for renewal ensuring timely solicitation or renewals.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Two (2) years or more successful experience in leading staff.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of procurement & contracts as well as strong analytical, writing and communication skills.
  • Six (6) years or more of progressively responsible experience in purchasing, preferably in the public sector.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO), or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
