Job Title: Assistant Controller

Job Summary:

Our client, a growing mid-sized construction company located in Clearwater, Florida, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join their dynamic team. As an Assistant Controller, you will work closely with the Controller to oversee controls and processes, manage transactions and data flow, and provide valuable financial analysis and recommendations. Responsibilities:

- Prepare monthly cash and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate posting of adjustments.

- Maintain detailed records of fixed assets and handle vehicle licensing renewals.

- Conduct deferred revenue analysis and make necessary entries.

- Assist with monthly inventory input, reviewing obsolete or aged items, and providing recommendations.

- Oversee and support payroll, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

- Address vendor or customer inquiries in a timely manner.

- Generate reports and distribute them to management as required.

- Perform financial analysis and review accounts to ensure appropriate charges and adherence to capitalization policy.

- Assist with financial closing processes.

- Aid in staff and automation development initiatives.

- Contribute to policy enforcement efforts.

Education and Experience:

- MBA degree from an accredited college or university.

- A minimum of 7+ years of accounting experience. Construction industry expertise highly preferred.
