This is an influential role instrumental in the effective management for timely and successful monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing of a multinational company. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, this position will be responsible for inventory, accounts receivable, credit & collections and assists in various other accounting policy projects as assigned. The Assistant Controller will also help drive a timely and accurate consolidation process, drive SOX compliant internal controls as well as process and system improvements.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated previous accounting management experience working in a fast moving, high volume multinational company.
What You’ll Do

  • Help the VP, Corporate Controller where needed to manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation
  • Oversee the credit & collections department to include review of month end accounts receivable, allowance accruals, bad debt reserves and various other credit related accounting journal entries
  • Support the accounts receivable invoicing team as needed
  • Oversee the inventory department to include review of month end inventory reserves, COGS, freight asset & expense, and various other inventory related accounting journal entries
  • Work with the VP, Corporate Controller to increase operational efficiencies; implement, document, and manage processes as required for operations; assist with special projects
  • Lead efforts to improve the accounting processes of our international operations and ensure SOX 404b compliance
  • Key member to implement and monitor month, quarter and year-end close
  • Collaborate across departments to perform ad-hoc analysis to assist with the development and progression of the business
  • Review monthly key account analytics and reconciliations, as assigned
  • Responsible for problem solving and implementing process efficiency where possible
  • Work directly with our external audit partner on a quarterly basis as it relates to the key areas under review


What You’ll Bring

  • Experience managing a team of 5+ employees
  • Six or more years’ experience in accounting
  • Preferred experience with public and/or international companies
  • Experience implementing and maintaining internal controls under SOX preferred
  • Inventory and accounts payable experience preferred
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills. Able to discern alternatives and make objective recommendations
  • Proficient organizational and time management skills to independently prioritize multiple tasks and bring projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel in particular)
  • Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft, SAP, etc.) preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong project management ability. Able to act as primary owner of individual projects, analysis and processes while working cross functionally outside immediate work group
  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university in business, accounting or related field


Salary Information

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $131,250 - $175,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
