We are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Controller with a great personality and excellent interpersonal communication skills. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment and view challenges as opportunities to impact organizational change. This is a full-time, remote working opportunity within the United States.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Occasionally participate in Business Development activities such as assisting with client scoping
  • Review, supervise, and perform monthly/annual financial closings and financial reporting, GL reconciliations, cash management, and project reporting as needed
  • Act as a strategic business advisor to the client providing operational guidance and recommendations based on client goals and needs; championing change management; and proactively suggesting changes to processes or functions in order to ensure efficiency and compliance with client, internal initiatives and company best practices
  • Address and resolve client needs that arise from initiatives, challenges, and risks such as key personnel succession, cash flow management, mergers and acquisitions, financial statement audits, ERP implementations, changes in operations or revenue streams, and finance function transformation
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures
  • Coordinate with third parties on behalf of the client, such as HR/Payroll, brokers, financial institutions, external auditors, tax CPAs and any other third party (ex. work with tax CPA to manage timely and accurate tax filing process)
  • Oversee and/or assist in the preparation of presentations for and present to our clients’ Management or Board of Directors
  • Create and prepare complex budget, forecasting and accounting models
  • Prepare annual budgets and monitoring against actual results
  • Lead or co-lead, oversee and ultimately be accountable for the success of multiple client engagements concurrently
  • Assist client with the development and monitoring of KPIs for tracking actual results against benchmarks
  • Assist client leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate
  • Ensure proactive and efficient management of client engagements via critical activities such as: forecasting resource hours in line with the scope and budget; managing internal communication, budget, and workflow; authorizing billable hours/charges and timely invoicing of clients; project planning, resource management and adherence to deadlines
  • Assist CFOs on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and other projects such as acquiring financing
  • Lead or co-lead engagement teams performing client assessments and identify recommendations for improvements, creating and conducting an implementation plan for those recommendations
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and projections as needed
  • Lead, mentor, train and supervise accounting staff members on engagements to ensure delivery of accurate, relevant and timely financial information, in addition to the staff member’s overall success and professional development
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirements


QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to learn and adapt to various accounting software quickly is essential
  • Experience with QBO, NetSuite, Sage, Bill.com, Expensify, or in-house accounting software for AP/AR a plus
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Professionalism in all forms of communication
  • Willingness to train, mentor and develop junior staff
  • Mix of public and private accounting experience preferred
  • Preference for collaborative team environments
  • Client service / consulting experience strongly preferred
  • 6-8 years of progressive professional experience required
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and exercise judgment in a client-facing environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent) required
  • CPA designation or MBA strongly preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, manage complicated client situations and maintain calm under significant pressure autonomously and solve problems creatively
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and G Suite

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $125,000 - $132,000 annually. In order to provide a competitive compensation package, Signature Analytics takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to: market compensation data, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications. A sign-on bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to benefits (employer contribution towards medical, dental, and vision premiums; 401(k) match; professional development reimbursements; cell phone and home office stipend, etc.) depending on the position offered.
