Job Description
Description: The Architectural Designer is a vital role to our organization and will help support the day-to-day operations of the Architecture Division. An ideal candidate will be a proven industry professional who is passionate, innovative, willing to work collaboratively, and actively seeks process improvement strategies. Job title: Architectural Designer Department: Quality Control & Inspection Unit Full-time/Exempt Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Provide general support to project members, such as document preparation, control, and data dissemination.
  • Strong communication and written skills
  • AutoCAD and Sketchup proficiency.
  • Assist with monitoring the status of PLI permits for the projects and diligently communicate with the relevant City affiliations.
  • Record information and manage financial transactions, check requests and bookkeeping.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture
  • Collaborate with Assistant Director of Architecture & Engineering, and external stakeholders with technical drawings, reports, and presentations.
  • Assist with document preparations such as contracts, amendments, authorization memos, and board agenda.
  • Must be a team player and people oriented.

  • Assist with review of proposals for professional services and construction bids received by the URA.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA.
  • Efficiently coordinate and manage the scheduling of meetings, securing conference room reservations, and making necessary phone calls as required.

  • Assist with the management and administration of construction contracts and consultants.
  • Analyzing information, preparing documents and spreadsheets, and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Assist with the review of contract documents and specifications for adherence to applicable design standards.
  • Serve as liaison between Assistant Director of Architecture & Engineering, vendors, URA staff, regulatory officials, and clients.
  • Assist Quality Control staff to provide technical information to other URA departments.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs., standing, sitting, reaching, and stretching.
  • Assist in creation and delivery of meticulously crafted architectural drawings, 3D Modeling and visually compelling graphics. Position Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Assist with creating, recording, controlling, and organizing documents and drawings.
  • Assist and support architects and engineers in executing multiple architectural and engineering projects.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency Preferred Qualifications: LEED GA, LEED AP, or similar certifications Competencies:
  • Answer bidder inquiries, managing bidding and budgets, prepare written reports.
  • Assist Quality Control staff to ensure that design and construction projects meet URA standards.
  • Serve as backup for payroll approval as needed.
  • Must be organized, focused, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Reporting skills, estimating, decision making, teamwork and documentation Skills.
  • Other assigned duties a required.
  • Assist with the review of the architectural drawings and specifications as the basis for contract bids.
  • Promotes Teamwork Physical Requirements:
  • Assist with managing project file folders and updating project information on daily basis.
  • Knowledge of industry practices, procedures, and market trends and strong administrative background.
