With 200+ clinicians and 110+ locations across 7 states, we are thriving, growing, and looking to add talented individuals to our team! We are currently looking for a new Patient Scheduler to join the team at one of our North Carolina practices, Atlantic Dermatology (www.atlanticdermnc.com). Atlantic Dermatology, now an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology, has 5 locations in the Wilmington area and offers comprehensive medical skin care services to our patients.

Our Scheduler role introduces you to the systems we use for patient and practice management, as well as the methods we leverage to successfully manage significant patient communication and scheduling. Reports to Front Office Supervisor


Supervisory Responsibilities None


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Consult with patients to schedule and re-schedule appointments
  • Collect and manage patient information with respect and detail, in accordance with industry regulations (HIPAA, etc.)
  • Call patients to reschedule appointments due to provider schedule changes
  • Assist with scheduling Inbound Referrals
  • Actively listen to patients, using empathy and concern
  • Manage a multi-line phone system and schedule patients in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist with updating referring provider about patient upcoming appointment and/or appointment status
  • Escalate patient situations that require unique attention
  • Accurately schedule medical and cosmetic appointments
  • View and manage provider scheduling and communications
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently
  • Bi-lingual- Spanish speaking skills is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task
  • Follows directions and respects policies and procedures
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Education & Experience
  • Attention to detail, specifically professional writing skills
  • Experience with electronic practice management system preferred
  • Positive attitude that shines through to our patients on the phone
  • Pleasant and clear speaking voice
  • Problem solving skills
  • Customer Service or Sales experience
  • Medical Office experience preferred, but not required.
