Job Description
Health Care staffing firm is seeking an Appointment Scheduler for an outpatient specialty clinic to ensure that patients are correctly scheduled for appointments and procedures.


Responsibilities


  • Scheduling referral appointments and follow-ups.
  • Confirming patient appointments.
  • Providing instructions to patients to ensure that they are prepared for examinations and procedures.
  • Verifying insurance details and informing patients of un-covered fees.
  • Scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments as required.
  • Courteously receiving incoming telephone calls and taking messages as needed.
  • Answering patients’ questions regarding medical tests and procedures.
  • Filing documents and organizing supplies.


Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience working in customer service, medical office is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance plans.
  • Good telephone etiquette.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to type and file accurately.
