Job Title:Application Support Specialist

Duration:C2H - 6 Months

Location:Springs, FL/ Berkeley Heights, NJ (Any one Location) (5 Days a Week On-site)

Required Pay Scale: $66-76/hour


*** Due to client requirements this role is only open to candidates willing to work 5 Days a Week On-site & on W2 Only ***

Looking for a support Specialist that can focus on the daily care and feeding of our financial technology environment. Identifying failed jobs, recovering batch processes, monitoring / writing Splunk alerts, identifying future problems. Configuring Dynatrace. Strategically analyzing the recovery process. Identifying improvements in our processes, increasing efficiency in recovery and frequency of issues. Also working on development to concentrate on Continuous improvement opportunities.

What are they doing:

  • Tier 2 support
  • Batch jobs have the most issues
  • 30% recovery efforts
  • Mastercard - APIs have been unstable over the last 9 months
  • Ex: We can minimize issues by doing X
  • Splunk and Dynatrace for monitoring
  • Messages going from Splunk messenger to the code
  • Certification:Power User is anice to have
  • Strong in Query language scripting
  • Trending charts overtime
  • Ex: Last few weeks I’ve had this issue pop up, and I need to investigate
  • Not recovering, but monitoring
  • Will need some programming skills
  • Writing in alerts
  • Not design patterns, but be able to read code
  • Triage & root cause analysis investigations
  • Java, batch jobs
  • 30% root-cause analysis

Must Haves:

  • Splunk, understanding in and out
  • Messaging queue
  • Messaging services
  • Experience with Kafka, MQ
  • Java, J2EE
  • Good communicator - will communicate with the business side, and will have to communicate the tech to the business side

Bold Key Skills/Tools:

  • Messaging services experience and Messaging queue
  • Good communicator - will communicate the technical issues with the business side
  • Experience designing and debugging J2EE platforms
  • Splunk, understanding in and out
  • Experience supporting Core Java
  • Experience with Kafka, MQ
