We are actively searching for a motivated Leasing Agent for this well maintained 176-unit community. Previous property management experience is preferred for this position.

The Leasing Agent is responsible for conversion of telephone and walk-in prospects to leases, resulting in maintained and increased occupancy, and the inherent responsibility to effectively communicate to existing residents and establish a successful renewal program. A brief summary (not all) of some of the duties and responsibilities are included below.
Job Duty Summary
  • Obtain lease information and complete lease applications.
  • Assist with resident problems and complaints concerning rent payments, service.
  • Conduct required credit and reference checks. Set up and maintain lease files.
  • Show and demonstrate apartments, utilizing sales skills to demonstrate market ready product and availability to close prospects. Maintain a deposit to show ratio of at least 50%.
  • Takes on supervisory responsibilities in absence of the manager, provide "in charge" responsibilities for the property and staff. These responsibilities include being "on call" 24 hours with pager, managing and delegating staff for maximum performance of their respective job functions.
  • Assist with preparation of newsletters and promotion flyers.
  • Requests, etc.
  • Follow-up with prospective residents.
  • Monitor telephone and walk-in traffic at property via welcome cards and traffic logs.
  • Assist with the planning of community activities and events.
  • Walk model tour route and opens models daily to ensure quality presentation.
  • Respond effectively to telephone inquiries to generate prospective resident visits to the property. Maintain a call to show ratio of at least 65%.
  • Prepare and process resident service requests.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and the ability to smile under all circumstances.
  • Be able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Participate in training in order to comply with new or existing laws.
  • High school graduate or GED. Associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) or Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) preferred.
  • Competence in personal computer skills, keyboard, internet search, math, including Yardi, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents.
  • 2 or more years on-site as a Leasing Consultant and/or Assistant Community Manager; will consider 3 years supervisory experience in a customer service-related business with appropriate certification(s).
  • Demonstrate ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and initiate appropriate course of action.
