Job Description

Antitrust Associate - Am Law 10 Firm - Washington DC

Posted Date

19/07/2023

Description

An Am Law top 10 firm are seeking a 2nd to 7th year associate to join our antitrust group as a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Clearance Team. The Mergers & Acquisitions Clearance Team handles compliance with the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act (the “HSR Act”) and coordinates with our European-based team on international merger control compliance.

The Team supports busy and growing antitrust, corporate and private equity practices. This position is focused on regulatory antitrust matters, rather than antitrust litigation. The ideal candidate will be expected to assess HSR reportability, prepare HSR forms, and manage filing preparation, including coordination with the client, the corporate team and opposing counsel. Current Team members and other antitrust partners will provide additional training and support on these job requirements.

The candidate may be asked to work on substantive antitrust analysis of competitor transactions, Second Request responses and general antitrust counseling matters. Qualified candidates must have excellent drafting and communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within deadlines. A background in corporate M&A or experience working for private equity fund clients is a plus for those with prior legal experience.
