Position Summary


Communicate data, reports, and analyses to business and management teams, providing interpretation within the context of the business and making recommendations for improvements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Extract and compile data from multiple internal and external sources, evaluating the reliability and appropriate use for the information
  • Communicate data, reports, and analyses to business and management teams, providing interpretation within the context of the business and making recommendations for improvements
  • Model, forecast, and explain customer behavior, program trends, drivers for business changes, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Senior analysts are expected to learn new techniques and act as a guide for other team members using domain expertise
  • Responsible for tracking, reporting, and analyzing performance of marketing campaigns, ad-hoc analytic requests, and development/automation of regular reports
  • Reports to the Marketing Analytics team while supporting a specific business area by fielding requests, attending meetings to keep informed of business, and building relationships to anticipate needs
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Use analytical approaches to evaluate marketing campaign performance, propose negotiation strategies, proactively recommend business improvements, and assess potential opportunities
  • Senior analysts will regularly host meetings, take notes, and assign/track action items for follow up
  • Build and manage multiple business cases, models, and forecasts to help guide positive business outcomes
  • Senior analysts will present regularly to executive leadership with prepared projects or hypotheses to test and learn from marketing efforts
  • Create regular and ad hoc reporting, identifying performance indicators, and presenting information in periodic dashboards and tools for data investigations
  • Define analytical and data requirements for information systems, and work with technology teams on implementing and prioritizing improvements


Minimum Requirements


  • Able to multi-task and prioritize across multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical skills and high degree of business acumen
  • Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Failure to submit to testing or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment with Hawaiian Airlines and any employment offer will be withdrawn.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, operations research, or equivalents
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, technical, or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills to tell actionable stories with data
  • 2 years of professional experience in data analysis or related working experience
  • Proficient in writing advanced SQL queries and working with large data sets
  • Good technical skills and knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel (e.g. pivots, charts, Power Query, etc.)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and lead projects
  • In addition to routine employment eligibility verification, U.S.-based airlines must gather information to validate country of citizenship and country of birth. Upon hire, you must provide documentation proving your current country of citizenship and birthplace.
  • Proficient in a wide range and application of analytical, quantitative, and statistical techniques and tools to derive insights from large, complex data environments solving complex and ambiguous business problems in a timely manner
  • Understanding of relational database architecture and the ability to merge large data sets from disparate sources


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with customer data platforms and Loyalty-based consumer data
  • Prior experience using JIRA or other task management systems to receive, track, prioritize, and complete requests from multiple business owners
  • Experience as an analyst in marketing, merchandising, loyalty, or consulting
  • 4 years of professional experience in data analysis
  • Graduate degree in a research, marketing, or quantitative discipline
  • Experience with identifying and presenting on key consumer behaviors and opportunities for personalization using digital journey analytics across multiple touchpoints
  • Knowledge of Tableau or similar data visualization tools to build and automate dashboards and reporting
