The primary responsibilities for this role include implementing Hill's Retail Environment & Science Diet brand (as well as Hill's Masterbrand) strategies to grow market share and brand advocacy within the total customer ecosystem. This will be achieved through the BAM developing and executing customer specific 6P+A plans to achieve Hill's commercial goals of net sales, share, and margin, while operating within spending guidelines. BAMs at this level focus on a larger, and a more complex customer based on higher net sales, demand for increased new shoppers / pet parents, larger geographical footprint, stronger marketplace influence, higher customer sophistication, and other customer complexities. Strong leadership is needed to engage customers at the highest level with strategic plans.


What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain process/plan to analyze the customer’s business. Evaluates business trends, shopper insights, and learnings from post analysis of executed activities, which utilizes customer consumption and other available data
  • Customize specific shopper programs with Hill’s shopper marketing, leveraging Hill’s brand strategies to drive incremental retail sales
  • Execute customer meetings to influence support of Hill’s Go-to-Market plans within and above the customer meeting cadence (to include business reviews and monthly / quarterly meetings and joint business planning)
  • Build and maintain Colgate Business Planner to reflect baseline sales and promotion plans. Manage customer payments
  • Take a holistic view of the business through consideration of channel impact and conflict o Builds and executes annual strategic plans and initiatives to achieve the commercial goals, while engaging in the customer’s category growth expectations
  • Drive forward actions in monthly customer planning meetings to review actuals plus plan-to-go with manager, BDM & Finance
  • Take an active role with the cross-functional customer table team on all of the below key areas: Drives online purchase and loyalty by creating and monitoring the 6P+A plans versus goal for key Hill’s customers at varying levels of revenue and complexity
  • Develop category and brand solutions for the customer that will drive the Hill’s business. o Collaborates with Hill’s BDM & Retail Marketing team to execute the Hill’s retail environment and brand strategy within investment guidelines
  • Execute sales plans and resolve issues through both the customer and internal commercial teams, including Marketing, Supply Chain and Store Operations.


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of commercial experience in consumer packaged goods or related industry (Including combination of progressive roles of field sales, corporate sales, marketing, finance and/or customer service)
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience managing key accounts/headquarter accounts


Preferred Qualifications

  • Adept at finding common ground, identifying vital interests, and understanding the customer’s underlying priorities
  • Strong influence and negotiations skills for win-win solutions with persistence, compromise, and respect
  • Works effectively across functions, channels, and categories to align priorities, solve problems, optimize resources, and drive effective execution
  • You are Curious and Digitally Savvy. You have an agile approach and are able to adapt to robust landscape. You understand the dynamics of eCommerce and seek innovative solutions.
  • Excellent business presentation ability and a skilled communicator
  • Strong analytical skills to develop 6P recommendations that result in optimized consumption based on consumption data, shopper and consumer insights
  • Proficient computer skills in Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc) and/or MS Excel, Word, etc.
  • Manages ambiguity and strategize solutions for the customer’s business and 6P plan performance and quickly develop alternative plans as needed

Salary Range $112,000 - $164,850 USD
Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
