About the Opportunity:

You will be at the forefront of the next generation of highly talented interiors designers and engineers at Aircraft Company. The interior of our aircraft is where we directly interface and with our aircraft owners and passengers. Passenger experience is an area of highest importance to our product, and you will join our Interiors team to lead the development of the features, functionalities, and overall Integration of the Cabin Seating System, including Forward/Aft facing Seats seats as well as Side-Facing Seating/Divan. Our objective is to bring to market a seating system that offers class-leading ergonomics and comfort for our passengers, and combines high-end styling and material finishes with smooth and reliable mechanical function in a lightweight package, through initial requirements definition, conceptual design and detailed engineering, testing/certification, and industrialization through to final delivery into service.

As Seating system Integrator you will be the primary engineering knowledge-owner for Aircraft Company and act as primary technical focal point for collaborating suppliers. Your responsibilities will include defining system functionalities and technical requirements, developing technical solutions for these features in collaboration with our selected Seating system supplier, leading integration activities with interfacing and related cabin systems (including aircraft Structures, Liners and Monuments, Industrial Design teams, and interfaces with the overall cabin environment), managing supplier deliverables and schedules, and guiding the overall system from initial definition through engineering design, testing, certification and entry into service. On a given day you may host regular supplier progress and technical integration meetings, develop and provide program status reports, evaluate and supplier prototype components in our mockup or test bench, co-develop design and aircraft installations with our manufacturing team, create human factors and passenger ergonomics assessments, develop/review and release technical engineering drawings, or undertake testing and system certification activities. You will be given the opportunity to apply your outstanding experience and future vision, using judgement and autonomy to guide the future of business aircraft cabin experience. This position affords an expectation of strong personal and professional growth within our agile engineering teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will research and develop a wide range of materials, installation techniques, modular system strategies, and design-for-manufacturing strategies.
  • You will be expected to utilize novel approaches to solve complex and challenging problems.
  • Validate engineering designs per engineering core principles, design standards, processes and industry best practices.
  • Technical integration with interfacing aircraft systems, including Structures, Cabin liners and monuments, other relevant aircraft components, as well as with Interiors Industrial Design and Human Factors teams to maintain highest quality cabin experience.
  • You will be working in a fast paced environment, and will embrace constantly evolving tasks and priorities. This will include materials and technology research, cabin interior systems design, features definition, detail engineering and analysis, CAD Integration, aircraft level troubleshooting, and supporting airplane build. You will become a key contributor with rapidly increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Lead a Cabin Interior System Integrated Product Team (IPT), a cross functional team of Aircraft and Supplier experts. You will work closely with programs and project engineering to ensure crisp project status, weight and cost management, Requirements compliance, and overall system functionality.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Customer-Service teams to ensure design for modularity, manufacturability, maintainability, and ease of future upgrade.
  • Ensure adherence to program milestones and objectives.
  • You will collaborate daily with other engineers, with other divisions within Aircraft Company and with external Suppliers. This will require strong communication skills, initiative and a desire to listen, learn, and lead.
  • Make technical and program-related recommendations to engineering leadership.
