Adult Education Part-Time Instructor

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Dean of Adult Education, the part-time instructor provides instruction for High School Equivalency (HSE) Tests (i.e., GED and HiSET) in the academic areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies for students at WGTC.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time- maximum 19 hours per week position. Classes will be held Monday-Thursday morning hours split between the Douglasville Campus and the old Douglasville Courthouse community site.

Rate of Pay:

$20 per hour – no benefits

Travel:

Travel to other campuses is a possibility for meetings, trainings, professional development, etc.…

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree

*and*

• Two (2) years related teaching experience

Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree;

• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in education, or

related field;

• Teaching Experience on the Secondary Level;

• Experience with Blackboard;

• Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills;
