Job Description
## Department
The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is located in Sarasota, Florida, and is a department of Florida State University. Learn more about The Ringling at https://ringling.org/employment!
Responsibilities
The Admissions Manager provides exceptional customer service while maximizing sales, incremental revenues, and memberships. This position oversees Visitor Pavilion visitor flow as well as manages volunteer Ambassadors and maintains schedule for courtesy cart drivers.
  • Sets museum policy on ticketing with guidance from senior staff. Interprets Museum operation policies and procedures. May recommend new procedures or ticketing strategies based upon report analysis and perceived customer needs. Communicates frontline information cross-departmentally. Performs other duties assigned which supports Visitor Services functions and museum operations.
  • Manages and supervises all Admissions functions and staff (USPS and OPS). Oversees schedules of Admissions staff for daily sales, advanced reservations, member services desk and special events. Holds daily morning briefings to inform frontline staff and volunteers of the day\'s events and provides information on how to promote them when applicable. Ensures staff compliance with PCI and cash handling policies, processes returns and investigates cash discrepancies. Trains staff on job responsibilities, customer service skills, museum offerings, promotions, and memberships. Makes assignments, delegates responsibilities, sets sales priorities, and resolves customer concerns. Hires, and conducts performance evaluations in consultation with the Assistant Director of Visitor Services.
  • Monitors ticketing database to ensure accuracy and timely implementation of tours, ticket categories, special promotions, etc. Monitors and is responsible for wristband inventory. Produces reports for Senior Staff.
  • Works with Marketing to identify collateral needed to communication museum offerings to individuals and groups and to maintain message consistency/accuracy.
  • Manages schedules volunteer Ambassadors in accordance with Museum needs. Trains volunteers Ambassadors on job responsibilities, customer service skills, museum offerings, promotions, and memberships. Maintains schedule for courtesy cart drivers.
  • Provides information about The Ringling to the general public that visit or make inquiries. Oversees Member Services desk and advanced sales/reservations. Works with Education, Development, and Events staff to provide reservation services for group tours and programs. Trains staff to explain member benefits, promote/sell memberships, renewals, members\' events, and member groups. Trains staff on member admission process. Works with Senior Staff to provide VIP guest services.
Qualifications
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Bachelor\'s degree and four years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
  • Please note that higher education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions to include Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn web-based ticketing software (Tessitura).

Considerations
Rate of Pay : The anticipated rate of pay will likely fall in the mid 50k range and will be based on the education, skills, and experience of the selected candidate. Find out more about our comprehensive benefits package under the \"FSU Total Rewards\" section.
Working Hours : Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one hour meal period. Please note that evenings, weekends and holidays will be required based on the needs of the business to ensure proper staff coverage.
