Administrative Nursing Supervisor- Pt/Night

Job Title: Administrative Nursing Supervisor Job Summary:

A Registered Nurse who has shift supervisor responsibility for the clinical and administrative management of the nursing units. Participates in hospital and nursing committees, also participates in Performance Improvement projects. Responsible for leading / participating in Bed Board meetings and in providing leadership during Disasters. Serves in the capacity of hospital administration in the absence of management. Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer

Essential Job Duties:

• Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, reliability, and dependability in all daily work activities and a willingness to collaborate with others for the good of the customer and the organization.
• Coordinates staffing needs with Directors / Managers and monitors unit staffing to ensure that patient acuity levels, census and ratios are met including flexing of staff when appropriate
• Able to use IT systems in an accurate and proficient manner. Collaboration/Teamwork:
• Supervises patient care activities, significant patient care issues and acts to advocate in patients interest according to hospital policy and regulatory requirements
• Demonstrates a courteous and respectful attitude to internal workforce and external customers. Communication/Knowledge:
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize patient care problems and determine nursing interventions utilizing critical thinking in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, acceptable standards of practice and regulatory standards  Serves as a role model for the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization and fulfills other job duties as requested within Scope of Practice  Maintains current competencies as well as updated knowledge in specific area of practice Behavioral Standards:

• Provides accurate and timely written and verbal communication of clinical information in a manner that is understood by all involved in the delivery of patient care.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in acute hospital care

Licensure/Certifications:

• Current ACLS for Healthcare provider card
• Current BLS for Healthcare provider card
• Current RN in good standing with California Board of Nursing
• PALS, AB508 as required per patient population.

ADA/Physical Demands:

• Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear; and may taste and smell. The employee is regularly required to lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 10 pounds, with assistance. Visual abilities, auditory abilities, must be intact to perform duties.
