- The Administrative Nursing Supervisor facilitates good communication and patient throughput throughout the organziation.
- The Supervisor ensures that services are aligned with the strategic plan, mission and vision of MelroseWakefield.
- This individual will report to the Director of Nursing Resources and collaborates with him/her on strategic planning, developing goals and objectives, and priority setting for the service line.
- The Administrative Nursing Supervisors provides administrative support and oversight for the Clinical Resource Nurse in the provision of nursing care across the system.
- The Administrative Nursing Supervisor utilizes nursing process in provision of patient care and assumes the role of patient advocate to assure that effective communication and collaboration is maintained with all health care disciplines.
- The Administrative Nursing Supervisor is a nurse leader and as such represents MelroseWakefield's highest standards of behaviors, attitudes and as well as dedication in support of the frontline staff.
- He or she possesses strong negotiating and problem-solving skills in dealing with patients, caregivers and medical staff members.
- In collaboration with all members of the nursing leadership team, he or she has decision making authority in resolving patient care conflicts.
- The Administrative Nursing Supervisor demonstrates group and individual commitment as well as a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the delivery of professional nursing care and the appropriate allocation of resources at MelroseWakefield.
- The Administrative Nursing Supervisor demonstrates clinical knowledge in all patient care areas.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Professional certification preferred.
- Candidates who do not hold a baccalaureate degree in nursing may be considered but must be enrolled in a Baccalaureate program within one year of hire.
- Current Massachusetts state RN license in good standing required.
- Minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing required; master’s degree in nursing preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant healthcare experience required, including progressive leadership responsibilities. Critical Care experience preferred.
- Current BLS and ACLS required.
- Specialty certification is desired.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations; possesses good oral and written communication skills and is able to effectively work in a changing environment.
