Adjunct Instructor - Nursing

Utah Valley University is seeking an adjunct instructor for the Nursing department.

Under the administrative direction of the Nursing Department Chairperson, the instructor would: Plan, prepare, and follow an approved course of study with measurable objectives for each course/clinical taught. Prepare instructional materials; instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in classrooms, labs, and clinical (hospital) areas. Evaluate instruction and learning; maintain and submit accurate student records. Advise students as needed. Assist department staff in maintaining an effective program. Maintain desirable and safe lab and classroom conditions. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Graduation from an accredited program with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

• Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques.
• Skill in public speaking and report writing.
• Knowledge of counseling and advising techniques.
• Knowledge of current trends in nursing education.
• Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Skill in student management, motivation and evaluation, and recruitment.
• Knowledge of each course/clinical to be taught.
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
