• Compensation: $75,000-$90,000
• Worksite Location: Columbus, OH (Remote)

Actuarial Analyst
The Actuarial Analyst is responsible, with minimal guidance, for collecting and analyzing data and enhancing actuarial skills. They effectively manage time and continue to enhance work quality while beginning to interface with the business. This position will support our Commercial Lines teams.
What you’ll do as an Actuarial Analyst:

• Independently extract data and apply appropriate actuarial methods and techniques to different situations to solve problems and provide meaningful insight
• Lead customer facing discussions and represent the department in various settings
• Offer insights to improve the accuracy, stability, and timeliness of core actuarial processes
• With general guidance, leverage knowledge of pricing best practices to produce analyses leading to improvements in the rate level indications
• Independently complete projects that are outside normal run work
• Independently perform reserve appraisals on complex lines and coverages
• Expand insurance and/or actuarial knowledge through some combination of exams, industry periodicals, self-study etc.
• Independence and mastery of reserving methods so appropriate method(s) and selections are consistently utilized

What you need to become an Actuarial Analyst:

• Demonstrated mastery of insurance concepts and terminology and internal data and tools
• Demonstrated effective time management
• Proficiency with personal computers and knowledge of spreadsheets and other applications
• 3+ years of relevant work experience strongly preferred
• College degree with significant course work in a quantitative field such as math, statistics; or actuarial science experience
