About The Opportunity

We are searching for an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the performance of all accounts payable functions, and you will use your expertise in accounts payable systems and procedures, along with strong problem solving skills. Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and general ledger applications will make you the ideal candidate!

What you will be doing

• Complete credit applications to set up new accounts;
• Provide internal customer service to management and field employees as required;
• Respond to vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, and resolve invoice discrepancies;
• Utilizing various computer systems and software including Microsoft Office, Sage Office Timberline, and TimberScan to perform necessary tasks;
• Assist in month end closing;
• Backup to front desk/accounts payable person;
• Assist with other projects as assigned.
• Prepare and process accounts payable checks and ACH payments;
• Maintain and update vendor information for 1099 maintenance and subcontract insurance requirements;
• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount and payment terms;
• Review and process invoices for payment including purchase order line item matching;
• Reconcile cash balances daily and provide cash status updates to management;
• Prepare analysis of accounts and payment reconciliations;
• Produce monthly reports and reconcile AP reports to general ledger;
• Code invoices with appropriate general ledger account;

About You

You are an experienced administrative professional with at least two years’ relevant accounting experience, thorough knowledge of accounts payable and general ledgers systems, and an Associate's degree in accounting or business. In addition to being highly detail oriented and meticulous, you are exceptionally professional with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with vendors and employees of all levels. You can also work independently or within a team in a fast-paced environment, and you have a penchant for problem solving, accuracy, and timeliness. You will also bring advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Sage Office Timberline is a plus!
