ACCOUNTING OFFICER

The Accounting Officer is an executive level position for the City of Santa Fe that reports to the Finance Director. Serving as a senior advisor and resource to the Finance Director, the Accounting Officer works to ensure effective and efficient financial management of the City’s operations; responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the city assets are protected, and the City is in compliance with relevant regulations and laws. The Accounting Officer performs a variety of managerial and advanced accounting and finance duties including plan, direct, manage and oversee the activities and operations of the Accounting Division within the City’s Finance Department; coordinate assigned finance and accounting activities with Citywide divisions, departments as well as outside agencies such as the State Auditor’s Office, the NM Department of Finance and Administration and the external and internal auditors; and provide highly responsible, technical and complex administrative support to the all City Departments.
