Job Description

Federal Signal is looking to hire for our 2023 Summer Internship Program!

Those hired for the program will work from May 22, 2023 through August 11, 2023.
We are looking for students that are pursuing a 4-yr degree in Business, Engineering, and Marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Engineering - Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science

  • Assist the team with various engineering projects, such as lightbar, siren and metal products for police market.
  • Assist with writing microcontroller firmware and NextGen SelecTone GUI.
  • Support the GUI software development team on special projects.

Sales & Marketing – Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business or marketing

  • Assist with updating and maintaining social media and website content.
  • Assist with the creation of Facebook PowerPoints, brochures, data sheets, etc.
  • Assist with new product development literature and research.

Operations – Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering and computer science

  • Working with LabView, Omron Camera, and Omron Robots to determine how they all work together and can be used in automation systems.
  • Work with LabView on automated test fixtures for production and review legacy test fixtures for repurposing.

Position Requirements

  • Student must have completed their sophomore year of college
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the majors listed above
