About the Team
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate engineer to work on disruptive cutting-edge cell technology that enables Tesla electric vehicles and energy storage systems. In this role you will…
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze data to draw conclusions
- Be the 'boots on the ground' for essential in-situ and ex-situ tests
- Be the spear point on analysis for all projects the design team works on
- Conduct root-cause analysis of possible failure mechanisms and respond appropriately to resolve issues
- Work with CAD on a regular basis to design cell components
- Update existing spec models with empirical data
- Strong academic and scientific background in mechanical characterization of materials
- Broad knowledge and R&D experience on energy storage is preferred
- Willing to perform hands on lab activities
- Available to work as full-time intern for at least 4 - 12 months, starting fall of 2023
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and detailed documentation skills
- Genuine curiosity and willingness to learn new concepts and methods, design and execute experiments.
- Well versed using CAD software, preferably CATIA or SolidWorks
- Currently working towards a BS degree or higher in Material Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
