Technician Maintenance I Jobs

Entry-level maintenance and construction work on facilities such as buildings, parking areas, ramps, roads, taxiways, or adjacent areas of MDOT MAA.

Utilizing tools, operating motorized equipment, and performing manual tasks essential to the upkeep and appearance of a facility.

Working independently or as members of a crew. At the journey level, employees may work within a specialized trade.

Maintenance work requiring physical exertion, which is performed either outdoors under all weather conditions or inside an MDOT MAA building.

Experience can be substitute for education. Education can substitute for experience.

Experience in a regulatory industry; pharmaceutical, insurance, real estate, or banking is preferred.

Resolves problems by clarifying issues; researching and exploring answers and alternative solutions; implementing solutions; and identifying and escalating unresolved problems appropriately.

Maintains acceptable levels of customer service while achieving standards for accuracy, productivity, and cash handling.

Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and good trouble-shooting skills

Required to pass lift truck and scissor lift certification requirements

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Basic knowledge of tools and techniques necessary to maintain all aspects of a physical plant.

Complete work orders as assigned by priority.

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all buildings and equipment.

Report and repair any safety concerns that may develop.

Record and track billable productive hours.

Experience on using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems to track the scheduling and execution of maintenance activities.

Project management experience a plus.

Management skills to lead a team of maintenance technicians and meet department goals and expectations

Electrical experience or certification a plus

Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.

5 years of experience on preventive maintenance, equipment and process troubleshooting.

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change.

Work with the management team to solve problems and fix unsafe conditions.

High school diploma or equivalent Secondary education and/or certifications preferred.

Use your knowledge of plant processes to understand how the equipment is utilized.

Documented successful performance as a Maintenance Technician I or equivalent work experience required.

Manages Incidents: Drives committed and effective incident management

Participates in formal and on-the job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and non-technical job skills; participates in cross training activities.

Applies skills and performs work in other positions as assigned.

Ensures adequate OH&S organization: Ensures relevant actions are taken so that OH&S requirements are met

Identifies Hazards & Control Risks: Actively manages risks by ensuring that all related control activities are implemented thoroughly
