1+ years of related experience in a drafter role with basic knowledge of electrical substations

1+ years of experience with AutoCAD or other similar applications, design, or modeling skills and/or design principles and practices

1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Access

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work remotely without supervision

Control enclosure design and details

Experience demonstrating skill using basic math skills (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Must pass qualification tests, (Construction and Skilled Trades).

Experience demonstrating knowledge in the fundamentals of electricity.

Experience demonstrating skill using hand tools to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.

Experience demonstrating skill assisting in maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment.

Experience demonstrating skill using personal computers to perform various tasks.

Working knowledge and experience with AutoCad/Revit

Minimum 2 years of experience

REVIT (2 years of experience is required)

Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering examination

Certified by the State of Texas as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

Work with mechanical team for the design development process

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Manage the Substation Construction team, including recruitment, training, and development of employees.

10-20 years of experience in the utility sector, substation construction, and high voltage projects.

Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.

Previous experience creating EPC bid packages for substation projects

Experience with physical substation design is REQUIRED

Previous experience developing cost estimates for project capitalization

Experience with high voltage EPC projects dealing with transmission line (T-line) as well as substation engineering design; preferably 138kV or 345kV

HV Project Engineer / Physical Substation Engineer: Reviews conceptual designs and drawings to verify accurate specifications for substation design

HV Project Engineer / Physical Substation Engineer: Prepares engineering cost estimates and bid packages for greenfield and brownfield substation projects

Previous experience creating EPC bid packages for substation projects

Learn to assist skilled craftsman to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit

Learn to select type and size of pipe, conduit, and related material according to job specification

Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work sites

Learn to disassemble malfunctioning instruments or test equipment and examine and test mechanisms and circuitry for defects

Assist with replacement or repair of defective parts, using hand tools

Assist with opening switches or attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards.

Possess strong a verbal, written, presentation and excellent client management skills

Have project experience with providing engineering design services for traditional municipal, site work, and roadway design projects.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (ABET Accredited), EIT Certification preferred not required

0-2 years of Design experience

Perform calculations and modeling, assist with developing technical reports, technical exhibits and design drawings.

Develop design plans, design variations and expectations, specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.

Attend mandatory trainings (e.g., Roadway Worker Safety, etc.) to obtain/maintain all required qualifications to safely perform job duties.

HVAC experience consistent with the type of HVAC work performed by Metro North Electrical Workers, with Refrigerant Recovery Certification

Inspect, maintain and repair remote terminal unites (RTUs), security/fire alarm systems, control/protective relays, station batteries and chargers.

Minimum of four (4) years of verifiable experience as a commercial, industrial and/or residential electrician.

Experience using electrical and mechanical tools/meters.

Knowledge of electrical theory, principles and concepts.

Travel requirement is based on project location

Knowledge of QA/QC inspections and reporting practices

Knowledge of various electronics used to create reports i.e. I-Pad, Digital Camera, Hot Spot, Range Finder etc

Perform routine electrical engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected results

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, and electrical design software

Experience with electrical power system analysis, electrical system planning, protective device application, or substation design

Experience doing control system applications is highly preferred

Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications
