Senior Instrumentation Technician Jobs

In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Instrumentation & Controls Technician or in a similar role.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate markup changes to drafters.

Perform verification and validation of information within the DCS software.

Conduct field walkdowns of P&IDs, focusing on instrumentation elements.

Identify and document discrepancies or inconsistencies in the DCS system and P&ID drawings.

Maintains pneumatic and electronic process control instrumentation in the St. Paul Complex.

Tests, calibrates, and repairs control and instrumentation systems for plant production/process equipment.

Analyzes malfunctions of instruments and control systems and determines necessary steps to repair equipment.

Sets up equipment for tests and measures accuracy of instruments used to record heat, pressure, magnetic resistance, other characteristics, etc.

Assists the Power Plant Engineer in emergency situations. Works with supervisor and lead person to perform troubleshooting and participates in training.

Knowledge of and understanding lockout and tag out procedures and requirements according to OSHA standards.

Advanced knowledge of 120v circuits and below to perform inspections in compliance with the national electrical code.

Knowledge of instrumentation and analyzers that measure process parameters.

Experience reading and interpreting repair orders, mechanical drawings, procedures, charts, diagrams, dials, gauges, and equipment manuals

Knowledge of: the use and function of reciprocating or gas turbine engines, compressors, and electronic and processing equipment applicable to position

Five (5) or more years’ experience as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

3 phase motor control experience

Knowledge of pressure, flow, level, and temperature instrumentation.

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Terminal operations, trade electrician, degrees or experience in the field of electrical, electronic, IT Infrastructure or PLC programming preferred.

Intermediate knowledge with Windows based PCs and smart phone technology is required.

Minimum 5 years experience as a technician or prototype engineer working in a prototype development lab environment.

Extensive prototyping experience: Soldering, crimping, assembling cables and connectors, basic hand tools and simple tools (drill press, bandsaw, etc)

Experience setting up and running tests (example: thermocouples, data loggers, etc.).

Wire harness experience in accordance with NASA-STD-8739.3 and 8739.4 and/or IPC-A-620 standards.

Be a partner with and support the design engineers in bringing to life, testing, and troubleshooting Anduril’s different hardware products.

Fabricate and validate small quantities of electro-mechanical assemblies for prototype purposes.

5 years Industrial Maintenance Electrical/Instrument Repair experience and/or 3 years Industrial Maintenance Electrical/ Instrument Repair Experience with formal relevant education

Overseeing test projects and interfacing with Project Managers or external clients to provide project updates

Assisting Project Managers with defining test protocols and recommending appropriate equipment

Excellent soldering ability and electronic troubleshooting skills

Knowledge and interest in automotive systems and electronic devices

Review of calibration certificates to assure they meet project requirements.

Repair and calibrate radiation detectors and instruments, including air samplers.

Drive in the local Knoxville area to pick up and deliver instruments to other local calibration and repair shops.

Ability to repair and calibrate standard count rate and dose rate instruments.

Ability to repair and calibrate air sampling equipment.

Proof of citizenship will be required as a condition of employment.

Building Management System (BMS) experience and familiarity with controls systems.

3-5 years of experience as Instrumentation & Controls technician in industrial/commercial or lab/R&D environments.

Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, drives, and electronic components, as well as PLC & VFD programming.

Working knowledge of low voltage electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC.

Working knowledge of networking and telecommunication wiring.

Working knowledge in using hand tools, multi-meters, and testing equipment.

Continuous learning of EI&C trades through formal classroom education and OJT experience

Experience w/ overhead powerlines & high voltage equipment & systems is desired

Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in the oil and gas, power, petrochemical or commercial construction

Knowledge in the use and application of thermography equipment and software.

Compliance with all environmental and regulatory work processes and procedures

Compliance with the EI&C organization work and administrative processes and procedures

· Maintains Programable Logic Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives, and alarm and telemetry systems.

Attains and maintenance low voltage qualification within twelve months of start date.

Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.
