Job Description

Instrument Control Technician

Pay is $31.31 to $39.47($39.47 when fully qualified)

Potential hiring bonus of $15,000. $5,000 at 90 days, $5,000 at 6 months & $5,000 at 1 year of continuous employment.

Schedule: Currently Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm. Weekends the shifts may vary. Must be able to work Holidays and Overtime as needed. Schedule and hours may change in the future.

Some job duties:

  • Maintains pneumatic and electronic process control instrumentation in the St. Paul Complex.
  • Tests, calibrates, and repairs control and instrumentation systems for plant production/process equipment.
  • Assists the Power Plant Engineer in emergency situations. Works with supervisor and lead person to perform troubleshooting and participates in training.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area.
  • Sets up equipment for tests and measures accuracy of instruments used to record heat, pressure, magnetic resistance, other characteristics, etc.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Analyzes malfunctions of instruments and control systems and determines necessary steps to repair equipment.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, etc.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
  • Must be able to work in the United States and have acceptable I-9 documentation.
  • Must join/be a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 70 and meet/sustain requirements of the current appliable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
