Required Qualifications - Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Performs examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project management and/or client/owner.

Provides technical assistance to project management in selecting optimum construction procedures and/or techniques to meet project specifications.

Coordinates examination, inspection, and test plans with project management and client representatives.

Minimum of 3 years experience

Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors

Works to ensure company records comply with Regulatory requirements

Participates in special emphasis projects as assigned by the Inspection manager; level of participation may vary

A minimum of two years of related experience in inspection, welding, maintenance, operations, or engineering is required.

Works to ensure integrity of piping, equipment, and atmospheric storage tanks

Provides suggestions and/or support to help the plant run more efficiently

Assists in maintaining a complete database of equipment information

Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management

Must have AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification with D1.1 experience

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required

Computer Skills: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities for certified welding inspector

Perform welding as required by customer specifications, prints, or AWS welding code

Perform visual inspection of structural steel at various client locations.

Specialized Knowledge: Computer skills as required by stated accountabilities. Basic word-processing and spreadsheet skills. Problem solving skills.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Minimum Experience: 0-3 years of experience

Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.

Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.

Advanced working knowledge of metal forming (Progressive Stamping, Transfer Stamping, Hot Stamping, Fine Blanking), MIG and resistance welding, and tooling.

Ensure gauge calibration, certification, repeatability and reproducibility

Develop and manage welding techniques, materials, and technologies

20% Interface with EPRI PM and/or client representative to develop test/study plan and review process requirements, materials and intended applications.

30% Order/obtain equipment, materials, and other tooling to execute project requirements.

Or Bachelor of Science – Welding Engineering Technology degree with experience with mechanized/automated welding systems and weld tooling

Intermediate verbal and written communication skills

Ability to manage their time to support multiple projects

30% Execute welding development program or study as directed by PM/Client and document all required data and information for PM

Supervisory and performance management/coaching experience

Presents data to upper management related to metrics and key project milestones.

Manages and leads the quality team by providing coaching, ongoing feedback, mentoring, training, and ensuring employees receive development opportunities.

Experience within BSC quality systems.

Strong presentation & communication skills.

Computer skills required including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Ensures contractor and crew have proper Operator Qualification’s for the tasks being performed.

Minimum of 10 years of work experience in the utility or pipeline industries or a related industry.

AWS CWI or CPWI certification required

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Utilizes independent judgment in monitoring and determining whether the applicable standards being met by third party contracting employees.

Performs Quality Control checks on work being performed by contractor crews to evaluate and ensure code compliance.

Industry standard certifications preferred (CWI, API, etc.)

10+ years of Piping inspection experience required

Capture results of inspection/observations and report in timely manner

Ensure suppliers/contractors have relevant, up to date codes, standards, specifications and drawings

Interface with the discipline engineer, construction engineer, field workers and inspectors in a professional manner

Witness and monitor suppliers/contractors work activities, inspection and test in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures and etc.

Ensures compliance with Company RSM/QCM, QPM and ISO quality requirements

Lean skills continually drives process improvements

Responsible for induction of customer owned material into Repair Station

Checks process documentation for completeness

Visually inspects articles and does random dimensional checks

Reviews Purchase Orders and shippers for accuracy

Perform duties designated by the Chief Inspector in accordance with the job requirements outlined in the assigned activity and contract specification

Ensure compliance with all project specific environmental requirements

Current Operator Qualification (OQ) status as required by the project

Local candidates preferred no per Diem or relocation offered at this time.

Skilled with MS Office suite

Certified Welding Inspector responsibilities shall include:

Prior interactions with the following disciplines: manufacturing engineering, post market complaints, CAPA, risk management, supplier quality, process engineering

Lead in the implementation of assurances, process controls, and CAPA systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements

Knowledge of basic Quality Systems and good documentation practices

Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects covering diverse engineering (i.e. Software, Hardware, Labeling) disciplines

Experience in medical device field in a manufacturing support role

Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to completion

May develop, update, and maintain technical content of risk management files

Good computer skills in usage of MS Office Suite; CAD experience

Develop training and documentation materials for production (e.g., work instructions) to enable the seamless knowledge transfer of project and manufacturing processes

Basic documentation, communication and interpersonal relationship skills

Previous experience working with lab/industrial equipment

Good understanding and knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts relevant to Engineering
