Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Licensure or other certifications:

Preferred Experience: One (1) year healthcare experience

Operations Assistant responsibilities include scheduling appointments, organizing files, and distributing mail as required.

Analyze all operations and forward suggestions for improvement to the Manager

Proven work experience as an Operations Assistant or similar role

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Relevant training and/or certifications as an Operations Assistant

Promptly answer the questions of staff and other stakeholders

Surgical Support Technician – Full Time – Operating Room

3. Assist in lifting, turning, positioning and preparing patients for surgical procedures, using proper body mechanics

4. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment.

5. Work involves inventorying, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and maintaining operating room equipment.

Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

Perform patient personal hygiene such as bathing, toileting, feeding, dressing, grooming and oral care for patients.

Turn, position and ambulate patients.

Assist patients with bedpans, urinals and perineal cleansing.

Take temperature, pulse and blood pressure.

Enter daily patient record charting in computer.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Knowledge Skills And Abilities (KSAs)

Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.

Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.

Preferred – 6 Months Patient Care Experience, Operating Room Experience.

Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.

ORGANIZATION SKILLS: Organizes work to achieve maximum efficiency.

Schedules appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.

Communicates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff.

PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE: "Provides Patient and Family Centered Care to patients, families, visitors and internal customers"

PROBLEM SOLVING: Ability to identify, analyze and effectively solve problems.

HAND HYGIENE: Practices appropriate hand hygiene to impede spread of infection and disease.

Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification

Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology

Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center

One year of current Certified Surgical Tech experience in a hospital environment preferred with strong computer skills

Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Performs terminal room sterilization in accordance with OSHA standards, standard precautions, and departmental policy.

Assists with positioning and prepping of patients.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Works closely with Materials Management on making sure OR and anesthesia inventory is stocked appropriately.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including state, federal, and accreditation regulations.

Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

Basic knowledge and understanding of use (i.e. fracture table, cysto table, shoulder positioner, hana table).
