Mechanical Design Engineer – Entry Level Jobs

Knowledge of electrical or Instrumentation and control specifications and relevant education and/or experience is preferred.

Preferred work experience working for an engineering, utilities, or water/wastewater industry.

Basic knowledge of water/wastewater is preferred.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Support the engineering and design development of the company products, systems, and equipment specifications.

Prepare material purchase specifications for mechanical components and auxiliary items related to a project.

Under supervision applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design hardware for product changes and new development.

Assists in preparing component specifications, follows work processes to document designs, and prepares materials for design reviews.

Under minimal supervision, uses engineering tools to document calculations and compare the results in controlled databases.

Identifies the testing objectives at a component level in accordance with Halliburton’s Health, Safety, and Environment procedures and evaluates test results.

Works effectively as a team member by communicating clearly and efficiently to provide innovative solutions.

AutoCAD skills would be a plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently

Responsibilities of the position will be but are not limited to:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

Perform engineering design tasks for roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design

Works on matters of fundamental and basic complexity in a support role under the direction of more experienced engineers and designers

0 to 3 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting

Fundamental experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing of HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping systems designs preferred

Fundamental experience with the discipline code, generically stated preferred

Fundamental experience conducting field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting preferred

Interface with client and external partners required

AutoCAD and/or Revit experience is a plus
