Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Graphics, Industrial Design or Interior Design, or equivalent experience

1+ years’ experience with 3D/2D graphics, signage, digital printing

Basic knowledge of the commercial interior architecture and/or the design industry, including the production process

Basic sense of graphic design and knowledge of typography and layout methodologies

Coordinate and manage meetings pertaining to graphic and interpretive development

Manage extensive graphic schedules through both client approvals and fabricator production to maintain design integrity, production quality and key milestones

A minimum of 1 years professional graphic design experience (museum experience preferred)

Experience in all phases of design process (Concept, Standards, Design, Production) for digital, print and large-scale graphics. (preferred)

Knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials standards for environmental/green graphic and exhibit design

Experience with SmartSheet, Mailchimp and/or Wix a plus

Help manage multiple design projects simultaneously, effectively meeting project deadlines and objectives.

Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design software to enhance your skills and expertise.

Experience with print and digital design is required.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Collaborate with the senior designer to develop design concepts, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Conduct thorough research and analyze design trends to enhance the visual impact of our materials.

Planning, designing, and producing graphic exhibits, including artistic considerations using technical knowledge and skills, in both physical and electronic form

Demonstratable graphic design skills and a strong portfolio

Proficiency with desktop publishing skills including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrato

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Department of Veterans Affairs experience

Job-related, post-secondary education or applicable experience

Experience and/or education in the graphic communication/printing industry preferred

Self-manage time spent on projects so as to not exceed estimate

Strong oral and written communication skills

Work directly with Customer Service team and client

Learn and understand production procedures

Technical competency; must be proficient in Adobe CC software programs and experienced with designing for both print and web.

References; Professional studio experience a plus, but not necessary.

Assist with graphic design and layout for monthly SEVEN guide

Adjust designs to fit project needs and project lead’s input and feedback

Manage brand templates including authoring new templates, editing, and archiving assets, creating design templates, and ensuring client access.

Develop and prepare creative assets including development, re-sizing, and file export.

Design and prepare electronic files for print, using prepress industry standards for file setup.

• Familiar with project management and asset organizational tools

o Gather requirements from internal customers collaborating using MS Teams

o Excellent knowledge of social media platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter (X) and Facebook

• Experience developing creative and graphic design in agency or in-house graphic/marketing department

• Adaptable and willing to learn new skills and take on new challenges

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills including copywriting, editing and proofing

Effective writing, editing and communication skills

1-3 years of work experience in graphic design, and/or a related field

Proven ability to uphold brand and style guidelines. (Experience working for major brands is a plus.)

Up-to-date experience with web protocols, standards, and technologies. (Understanding of HTML/CSS is a plus.)

Have excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize work

Create innovative designs from concept to completion for multiple, simultaneous projects

Good time management skills; meets deadlines with ease and without sacrificing quality.

Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field or Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience

Receptive to feedback and skilled at interpreting guidance to envision multiple concepts.

Creates visually compelling graphics for PowerPoints, TV monitors, and printed materials such as posters and t-shirts

Ensure multiple projects are completed on time and with high quality results.
