Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Perform accurate and efficient QC data entry.

This is an entry-level position, so no previous experience is required.

Previous in a laboratory or cGMP environment and/or QC experience is strongly preferred.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics' Quality System.

This is a rotating shift position. Salary is based on qualifications and experience.

Knowledge of Analytical Chemistry preferred.

Perform Quality Control tests on finished products according to established procedures.

Review all analysis results with supervisor, and grade all finished lots when testing is complete.

Enter all data into the laboratory database system.

Retain all finished samples and keep the retain sample room well organized and clean.

Effective oral and written communication skills

Perform routine laboratory analyses by following written procedures providing data to internal and external customers

Measure and report the quality of finished products, intermediate streams, imported and exported materials, process control, environmental and quality control samples

Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Must be at least 18 years of age

Successful completion of the ExxonMobil Pre-employment Test

Follow process guidelines and expedite quality concerns to management

Experience with food safety (e.g., AIB certification, operations prerequisite programs, UP lights, etc.)

Experience with audit compliance (e.g., monitoring, documentation, variance explanation, etc.)

Experience with product changeovers (e.g., CIP, flavor changes, sanitizing, setting formulas, etc.)

Experience operating testing instruments (e.g., Carbo Qc, HPLC, Densitometers, Water Testing, etc.)

Experience following standards of operations (SOPs) (e.g., following procedures, etc.)

Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific duty.

Use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, or other materials for the purpose of quality control.

Prepare and record accurate information; maintain test results database.

Maintain all laboratory and field testing equipment.

Follow quality control plans and guidelines as assigned.

One (1) year previous experience in similar Quality Assurance lab.

Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, performs evaluations of ingredients and products in various stages of production.

Obtains samples of ingredients/product at regular intervals.

Evaluates the samples: weight, color, bake, etc.

Routinely makes recommendations for processing.

Originate and maintain accurate records.

Additional responsibilities as assigned by Quality management.

Assist with management of retention materials, laboratory equipment maintenance and repair, and other projects as directed.

Knowledge of basic validation, equipment calibration, equipment maintenance and change requirements

Effectively manage multiple responsibilities and complete tasks on schedule

Position requires occasional overtime as designated by Operations/Quality management. Overtime duties may be outside of direct area of responsibility.

Related experience should be in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), or medical device Quality Assurance role

Experience with implementing effective QA/QC programs preferred.

Experience operating and troubleshooting automated laboratory equipment (such as HPLC or GC) preferred.

Experience with software programs such as Office, LIMS, Pi or SAP preferred.

Experience with Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) preferred.

Assists in implementing plant QA/QC program.

Ensures accuracy of analysis of samples and provides results in a timely manner.

Work under the supervision of the Quality Control Department Manager, with guidance from the Conversion Department Supervisor and Leads.

Minimum age requirement of 18.

Ensure that all produced goods meet quality specifications and adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures).

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Accurate reading of a tape measure.

Self-directed and able to multitask.

Batch Data entry into SAP.

Experience in the pigment, coatings, colorant and/or color industry and understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts

Must be a self-starter and possess excellent organizational skills

Performing all laboratory testing for the Dispersions departments.

Performing Analytical Trends in Minitab.

Completing work instructions for the plant operators and providing Group Leaders with copies.

Organization and time management skills

Previous customer service experience preferred

Knowledge of Excel, Word and SAPs

Knowledge in mathematics – basic math including adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, fractions and measurements

Enter complete and accurate documentation of results and/or observations in SAP for record keeping.

Prepare and record customer submissions

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, e-mail, and general computer skills

Execute and document Installation, Operational and Performance Qualifications (IOPQ) protocols, calibrations, and the documentation of procedures.

Prior knowledge of cyclotron operations is desired

Strong working knowledge of equipment installation process and application

Operate the cyclotron and related equipment.

Monitor and interpret production via a computerized system.

Communicate tests results and equipment/lab upkeep to the Laboratory Manager or direct supervisor

Knowledge of ASTM / AASHTO Emulsified Asphalt and Asphalt Binder tests methods and practices for which the employee has been trained.

Ability to obtain Level II Certifications from GDOT to test Emulsified Asphalt and Asphalt Binder.

Ability to obtain emulsion certification from NCDOT.

Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Previous experience is in asphalt, quality control or laboratory environment is helpful.

Documentation of laboratory work using laboratory worksheets/notebooks; documentation must be detailed, accurate and meet cGMP requirements.

QA Manager operators will cover the position in the event of an absence.

Human Resources and QA Manager.

Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.

Report any problems to Plant Operator, Area Manager, Safety Manager or Human Resource Manager.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

1-2 years of related experience in building materials/construction industry.

ACI Field Level 1 Certification preferred.

Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Prefer two-year technical degree or 2+ year’s professional or military experience related to operation, testing or repair of electro-mechanical equipment.

Troubleshooting experience with electronic and electro-mechanical equipment is highly desired.

Duties require performing visual inspection on all product lines.

Duties require standard product testing.

Duties require reporting discrepancies on failed units.
