Engineer 1 – Mechanical Design Jobs

Develop designs to meet customer requirements during new product development.

Minimum 3 Years of relevant experience

Plan and support the execution of validation of designs both in controlled settings and possibly with actual customer applications.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field

3+ years experience in machinery design

Working knowledge of pneumatics/hydraulics, AC/DC powertrain design, and servo controlled actuator design

Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.

3-5 years of related experience

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Master's Degree is preferred and acceptable in lieu of industry experience.

Develop mechanical design of chassis, support structures, enclosures, and mechanisms.

Prepare wiring/cabling design, layout, and development of documentation.

1+ year/s of experience in a relevant engineering position. (New grads welcome).

A Day in the Life

Vendor management: component fabrication, manufacturing process transfer, qualification.

Experience designing mechanical modules, custom fixtures and tooling leading to successful introduction into manufacturing.

Generate detailed designs for mechanical parts/subsystems and possess analytical skills to evaluate feasibility of designs.

Bachelor's Level Degree and a minimum three (3) years of validated experience.

Tolerance analysis, GD&T, error budgeting, flow up and flow down of requirements.

Experience in detail drawing creation and application and interpretation of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) and welding (AWS A2.4) symbols.

5+ years in Mechanical design experience, candidates with a Master’s Degree and 3+ years mechanical design experience will also be considered.

Mechanical Design/Analysis experience with automotive power electronics (or similar, Power Generation, High Power Aerospace, Off-Road, Recreational, etc.)

Experience with Siemens UG NX or similar CAD applications such as, Catia, Creo, Solidworks, Rhino, Etc.

Experience with Ansys or other analysis tools (preferred), MATLAB, Solidworks, Nastran, etc.

Strong organization, leadership and time management skills

Contact and evaluate vendors and contractors and manage these relationships during the projects.

Execute projects within budget and schedule requirements.

Effective team building and teamwork skills

Computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

5+ years experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD package

Ensure all designs work to meet company, industry and customer’s technical standards/requirements (that is NEC, ANSI, IEEE, customer project specifications, etc.)

Provide feedback and solutions to project managers and project engineers to meet customer needs

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in Customer Application Engineering or Mechanical Design

Experience working in a manufacturing environment and specifically with steel or copper fabrication

· Help direct and manage work going to and coming back from remote contract workers

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience in Product Design and Development

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Demonstrated ability to create drawing packages, electronic bills of materials and engineering change orders in product data management (PDM) systems.

Pneumatics systems design knowledge & experience with creating pneumatic schematics. P&ID experience preferred.

Effectively uses company’s systems and procedures, to manage work in an accurate and timely manner.

Produces drawings consistent with client requirements and standards.

Recognizes potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager and Director.

Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM.

A minimum of five years of qualifying experience.

Detailed knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make proper selections independently.

Expert experience with specifying mechanical equipment (e.g. rotating and static equipment) and piping material specifications.

Knowledge and experience of common manufacturing processes such as machining, metal stamping/spinning, welding, sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, etc.

Consult with other Engineers, Product Managers, and Project Managers to create and revise designs, ensuring best engineering design practices are utilized

Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience

Ensuring that product designs meet all intended application and design requirements by collaborating with experts in other functional teams

1+ year of mechanical component design experience.

Prior experience in nuclear or other highly regulated industry.

Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)

Experience analyzing and solving moderately complex design problems.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to write organized engineering documents.

Ability to learn Change Management software and execute Bill of Materials reviews and Engineering Changes.

Apply your Engineering Skills in the design of and recommend fixtures, tools, and processes to enable the manufacturing of client's product.

Developed knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, raw materials, processes, and other physical sciences to enhance operations and manufacturing.

Prototyping and Machining Experience (Vertical Mill, Drill Press, Rapid Prototype, Lathe, etc.) a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other equivalent experience.

3-5 years’ experience in Robotics and Machinery Automation, Fabrication, and Quality.

4+ years' of industry experience

Strong knowledge of mechanical parts and computer-aided design

Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
