Youth Sports Specialist Jobs

Strong organization and time-management skills; must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines on a continual basis

Experience as a coach, camp counselor, education or in childcare preferred

Assist event manager for all Cavs Academy Camps and Clinics by doing the following:

Manage set-up, execution and tear-down of all Cavs Academy Camps and Clinics

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and display strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of the youth sports landscape and strong familiarity of the NBA and sport of basketball

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Advanced experience with photography / videography preferred.

Experience working with children in a professional leadership capacity (ie. - youth coach, camp counselor, nanny, teacher, etc.) preferred

Basic understanding of the fundamentals & rules of basketball. Previous experience playing basketball preferred, not required.

Strong verbal, and written communication skills.

This is a part-time hourly position

Previous experience in event management, sports administration, or a related field is a plus.

Supervise and manage a team of 10-20 part-time staff members.

Assist in resolving logistical issues and ensuring a seamless game day experience.

Complete assigned marketing tasks from the General Manager

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Supervises and implements the distribution, care and use of supplies and/or equipment for assigned programs.

Performs on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with program and city safety policies and procedures.

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

Previous officiating experience preferred but not required

General knowledge of recreation sports programs and equipment

Complete required training and certifications within established guidelines

Provide safe supervision of participants

Prior experience in sports is preferred but not required.

Prior experience teaching games, sports, and other related youth activities is preferred but not required.

Ability to work with youth & teens participants, as well as volunteers.

Ensures proper technique and safe teaching skill development.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Explains and demonstrates use of apparatus and equipment.

Observe participants during practice to detect and correct mistakes always encouraging positive feedback.

Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations.

Explains basic fundamentals of the sport of basketball.

One (1) year of previous referee/umpiring, playing or coaching experience is preferred.

Ability to handle participants, team managers and/or coaches under difficult game situations.
