Youth Sports Instructor Jobs in Ohio

Experience as a coach, camp counselor, education or in childcare preferred

Assist event manager for all Cavs Academy Camps and Clinics by doing the following:

Manage set-up, execution and tear-down of all Cavs Academy Camps and Clinics

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and display strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of the youth sports landscape and strong familiarity of the NBA and sport of basketball

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Advanced experience with photography / videography preferred.

Experience working with children in a professional leadership capacity (ie. - youth coach, camp counselor, nanny, teacher, etc.) preferred

Basic understanding of the fundamentals & rules of basketball. Previous experience playing basketball preferred, not required.

Strong verbal, and written communication skills.

This is a part-time hourly position

Previous officiating experience preferred but not required

General knowledge of recreation sports programs and equipment

Complete required training and certifications within established guidelines

Three or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.

Attend YMCA management staff meetings as required.

Have extensive hands-on experience working with youth, teens, and adults.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all socio-economic segments of

Proven record of accomplishment in developing authentic relationships with staff.

Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with parents and community organizations.

In addition to the knowledge and ability qualifications for Sports Official-Scorer I:

Enforce appropriate official rules and regulations of games; maintain knowledge of recreation and sports event rules and regulations.

Keep score of games; maintain knowledge of recreation and sports event rules and regulations.

Basic knowledge of scoring techniques in seasonal sports.

Experience playing, scoring and/or officiating team sports.

One season of experience in subject area.

Experience and knowledge in working with local skilled trade sectors.

Experience and knowledge in working with the local workforce development sector.

Coordinating Certifications Trainings: OSHA 10, CPR/First Aid, Forklift

Coordinating with industry partners to provide Welding experience

Soft Skills: communication, teamwork, leadership, workplace discrimination and harassment, etc.
