Meet the minimum experience and training for the job

Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) – certain eligibility requirements must be met

Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1;

Provides casework services to families and children.

Is adept at interacting professionally with all levels of management while managing a diversified workload and challenging situations.

Coordinating and referring services to children and families offered by community resources, placement providers, collateral agencies, the courts, and community partners.

All DCFS job offers are contingent upon passing a Background Screening Application (BSA).

Investigating reports of abuse, exploitation, and/or neglect; assessing risks, strengths, barriers; and determining appropriate actions governing a client's situation.

Working with families to create plans for children’s safety and for ongoing services.

Supervising visits between parents and children to ensure safety,

Participate in the process necessary to establish targeted case management rates.

Knowledge of and experience in community corrections.

Education, licensure and certifications will be verified in accordance with the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines

Strong written and verbal skills.

Considerable knowledge of casework principles and methods.

Considerable knowledge of the cases, rehabilitative methods and prevention of juvenile delinquency.

Facilitate school orientations, explaining the U.S. educational system, school culture, roles and responsibilities, U.S. laws, safety, etc.

Supervise youth case management interns.

Excellent organizational, analytical, written and oral communication skills.

Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based databases and applications.

Maintain accurate and timely client case notes, referrals and case files as required by program guidelines.

Support after school programming when relevant.

At least one year of customer focused experience

Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong computer skills, to include use of Internet search tools, Intranet, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Composes and delivers emergency communication messages to domestic and overseas military locations.

High School Diploma or equivalent

Previous experience in ministry or Religious Education preferred but not required.

Coordinate and oversee religious education for 6th-8th grade Youth during the school year.

Establish & connect Youth from the Religious Education program to the Y/YA Ministry Program.

Basic skill level in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel is preferred but not required.

Youth Ministry experience is desirable.

Implement and Coordinate summer Middle School programs in the Parish and around the Region.

Knowledge of various computer systems to complete mandated case management reports and documentation (i.e.: Trails, Records Management, Word, Outlook).

Acts as a resource or expert in program area, providing technical guidance to less experienced staff

Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

Skills and sensitivity in working with issues of clients from a variety of cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.

An MSW may substitute for 2 years of the required experience.

Proof of education, (degree or transcripts,) and license (if candidate has received one) are required.

Six months of experience as a Human Services Case Manager

Anthropology courses relevant to cultural development and history, linguistic development, and communications. Physical anthropology courses do not count toward minimum requirements.
