Overview A Yard Spotter is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within a yard or terminal. They are responsible for ensuring that all trailers and containers are properly loaded and unloaded, and that they are placed in the correct locations. Detailed Job Description Yard Spotters are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within a yard or terminal. They must be able to safely and accurately maneuver trailers and containers in and out of the yard, as well as to and from loading docks. They must also be able to accurately read and interpret shipping documents, and ensure that all trailers and containers are properly loaded and unloaded. Yard Spotters must also be able to accurately record and report any discrepancies or damage to trailers and containers. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of yard operations and safety protocols
• Ability to maneuver trailers and containers safely and accurately
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents
• Ability to accurately record and report discrepancies or damage
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Forklift certification
• Experience in yard operations
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of yard operations and safety protocols
• Knowledge of shipping documents
• Knowledge of loading and unloading procedures
Job Experience
• Previous experience in yard operations
• Previous experience operating a forklift
