Other tasks as directed by clerks, supervision, or management
Check yard for damages to electrical poles, docks etc. and ensure necessary inventory is submitted to clerk
Shuttle trailers between buildings as needed
Place empty trailers in doors from yard, or move from yard to dock doors as needed and directed
Check loaded trailers to ensure proper seal and proper temperature
Check each trailer moved for damage or maintenance issues, and report any found issues to garage and supervision.

Overview A Yard Jockey is a professional driver who is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within a yard or terminal. They are responsible for the loading and unloading of trailers, the positioning of trailers for loading and unloading, and the movement of trailers and containers within the yard. Detailed Job Description A Yard Jockey is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within a yard or terminal. This includes the loading and unloading of trailers, the positioning of trailers for loading and unloading, and the movement of trailers and containers within the yard. The Yard Jockey must ensure that all trailers and containers are properly secured and that all safety regulations are followed. The Yard Jockey must also be able to communicate effectively with other drivers, dispatchers, and yard personnel. Job Skills Required

Job Qualifications
