Reviews and tracks truck temperature and fuel logs
Performs safety inspections of the yard horse and trailer according to DOT regulations
Maintains communication with supervisor on truck rotations via radio
Conducts inspection of all trucks once parked by the bay to ensure they are chocked securely

They are responsible for the loading and unloading of trailers, the positioning of trailers for loading and unloading, and the movement of trailers and containers within the yard. Detailed Job Description A Yard Jockey is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and containers within a yard or terminal. The Yard Jockey must ensure that all trailers and containers are properly secured and that all safety regulations are followed. Job Qualifications
