Working with power tools (skill saw, belt sander, power drill, etc.)

Experience in residential and commercial construction

Carpenter, Framer, or Woodworking experience

Traveling with crew to construct and install post & beam, timber frames, and mass timbers

Working with traditional hand tools (chisel, mallets, etc.)

At least three (3) years of experience using construction management software systems.

At least 10 years of experience in construction inspection of civil infrastructure projects such as paving & wharf construction.

A baccalaureate degree in engineering or experience as a millwright or similar trade is desired.

We are seeking an experienced construction inspector to provide inspection on paving and wharf construction.

Hourly Range: $73/hour - $80/hour

1+ years of previous construction experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to work with and influence peers and management.

Acts as point-of-contact to initiate jobs with clients.

Inspects and assesses equipment and materials moving to and from work site.

Assists in direction of construction staff in the day-to-day duties of the operation.

Ensures federal, state, and local regulations are satisfied.

Five years of journey level experience in heavy construction, equipment operation and general maintenance and,

Six (6) months supervisory or lead experience or completion of the City’s Employee and Leadership Development Program.

Effectively train others in technical procedures, techniques and skills.

Leads crews and actively works with them in all phases of construction and maintenance activities at the Municipal Wharf.

Performs and directs all activities of a wharf construction crew (as delineated in the Wharf Construction Worker specification).

Receives and communicates daily assignments; responsible for the completion of all verbal and written instructions.
