Water Technician Iii Jobs

Essential Functions/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Possesses advanced knowledge of all equipment.

Manages jobsite in the absence of crew leader.

Possesses advanced knowledge of GIS mapping; interprets as-built drawings.

Maintains/Acquires knowledge of concrete mix designs.

Ability to offer flexibility and adaptability, especially during times of change.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. General Knowledge of water meter uses and functions.

Six months’ paid work experience with water meter reading, repair or calibration, or in water systems maintenance.

Assists in installation, programs, or recodes remote or radio read systems for various meters.

High school diploma or GED equivalent and one year paid water meter repair and calibration experience.

Working knowledge of 1 ½” and 2” meters, large turbo meters and radio read systems including trouble shooting and repair.

Knowledge and ability to use small power hand tools.

Uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or other computerized monitoring and operating systems.

Knowledge of underwater diving techniques and underwater repair work, including diver certification.

Participates and leads in skills and safety training programs; learns and implements safety rules, regulations, and emergency procedures.

Three (3) years of experience in mechanical maintenance work which includes the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment, or

Five (5) years of experience in mechanical maintenance work which included the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment, or

Fabrication welding certification with arc gas welding and cutting equipment.

Perform contract management for water related projects

Six years' experience in sub-professional engineering related work

Four years' experience in sub-professional engineering related work and two years' relevant college level engineering course work

TTEP (Tacoma Training and Education Program)

Lead other Engineering Technicians as assigned; direct and participate in various field studies; analyze information and prepare reports on findings

Catalog and classify water engineering drawings

Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:
