Possesses advanced knowledge of all equipment.

Manages jobsite in the absence of crew leader.

Possesses advanced knowledge of GIS mapping; interprets as-built drawings.

Maintains/Acquires knowledge of concrete mix designs.

Ability to offer flexibility and adaptability, especially during times of change.

This is a Houston of Public

Department position at the Tiers I & II Level.

Experience with computer maintenance management systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook), and geographic information system programs.

Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Experience with water meter repair, exchange, testing or reading experience with meters ranging from 5/8" domestic to 2" commercial

Experience with AMI Meter maintenance

Experience using the following equipment: air compressor, motorized pump, hand/power tools

I have experience performing water meter repair

One (1) year of general work experience.

High school diploma or GED.

Valid driver's license with good driving record; own transportation with required liability insurance.

Ability to stoop, bend and walk five (5) miles per day

Ability to lift twenty-five (25) pound meter vault lids

May be required to obtain a Confined Space Entry certification from the TCEQ during probationary period depending on assignment.

Inspects, repairs, and/or replaces meter lids, boxes, and cut-off valves; raises or lowers meter boxes to proper grade level.

Completes daily reports to show what actions were taken on work orders.

Reads commercial, residential and wholesale cities' water meters, records readings, and turns in for use in billing.

Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.

High school diploma or GED.
