Vehicle Maintenance Technician I - Transportation Department

8+ years of paint shop experience including knowledge of a greenfield start-up.

Deep knowledge of maintenance systems (Maximo, CMMS, and MES) to manage the shop on a continuous basis.

Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, design, modify, and complete failure analysis on fleet vehicles including, but not limited to, trucks, vans and snowcats.

Willingness to learn the basic knowledge of the operation of all vehicles / equipment maintained

Work with Fleet and Surfaces Director and Shop Supervisor to develop skill sets

Pay $20.95/hour - $26/hour dependent on experience.

Willingness to learn the basic maintenance of snowcats, heavy equipment and rubber tire vehicles.

Complete tasks related to site preventative maintenance in accordance with the asset management system

2+ years of professional experience working hands-on as a technician in the aerospace, aviation, automotive, or oil and gas industry

Strong written and oral communication skills

Experience populating and repairing connectors ranging from D-SUB, BNC, TNC, N-TYPE SMA 8P8C

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a union environment, requiring dispute resolution, negotiation skills and performance management.

Minimum 5 years general supervisory and management experience.

Equipment maintenance principles and practices, including Fleet Management Information Systems.

Effective business management principles and techniques.

Be on-call by pager for critical system repair after normal business hours;

Install wiring for interconnecting of radio equipment;

Learn the equipment and methods used in monitoring and trouble shootingthe performance of communication equipment;

Inspect emergency power generators on a weekly basis, and perform preventative maintenance tasks on emergency power generators;

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Manages site vehicle related Quality Management System (QMS) Inputs.

Monitors and controls preparation of assets for shipment in support of Exercises and Tasking as directed by Program Management.

5 years’ experience as a vehicle maintenance manager or equivalent position.

Coordinates with all Functional/Program Managers in support of site operations and goals.

Monitors and reviews contractual reports to ensure they are complete and accurate prior to submission to the Program Manager for approval.

Train office managers on incentive administration.

2-3 years professional experience in automotive or related field

Verify monthly incentive hot sheet for accuracy.

Work directly with TMNA/incentive administration group to address region and dealer inquiries.

Process payments for region incentive programs.

Assist with monthly incentive budget reconciliation.

15+ years of experience in engineering or program management in the automotive or equivalent industry

You will escalate for management support: Ensure appropriate resources are in place across the cross-functional team to execute program deliverables.

You will define the deliverables: Align on requirements for each team at each milestone and define the benchmark for completing them.

BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience

Experience in product development at all stages; product ideation, design, release, prototyping, validation, launch and production

Proficient in tools required to manage complex projects (i.e. Gantt charts)

Minimum of 3 years of experience as an automotive technician (automotive mechanic)

Hold a minimum of 3 Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications

Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.

Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or manufacturer’s standards

Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification

Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs

Must have or be able to obtain the MVAC 609 refrigerant recovery certification within 90 days of hire

Ability to obtain any necessary ASE certifications within 90 days of hire

Experience troubleshooting, removing, cleaning, repairing, reinstalling, and adjusting engine emission, driveline, and electrical/electronic components

Experience rebuilding and repairing gearboxes

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

Perform preventative, corrective and unplanned maintenance on transportation vehicles
