Utility Person – Marine Jobs

Anything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements.

Must be able to read par stock lists, menus and chemical labels.

Frequently lifts objects of up to 50 pounds, i.e. dishes or food items.

Must be able to work in warm and humid environment (sometimes exceeding 100°F) as well as walk-in coolers and freezers.

Must be able to push/pull tray delivery trucks and food carts.

The position requires the employee to be standing or walking 80% of each day worked.

Passing score on a Entry-level Basic Skills test

Operate and perform pre-shift inspection of mobile equipment reporting any defects, when assigned

Participate in safety meetings and training sessions

Inspect work areas for safety hazards before beginning work activity

Occasionally lifts and carries equipment and materials in excess of 100 pounds

Run sweeper, water truck and track mobile

Experience not necessary, but desired.

Graduation from high school not required, but desired

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate verbally and in writing.

Ability to continually work at a moving conveyor belt.

Be away from home for periods in excess of two months

1+ years of experience working on a crude oil tanker

1+ years of experience working on a product tanker

1+ years of experience in operating a mechanical winch

1+ years of experience in operating a crane
