Utility Excavator Operator Jobs in Texas

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position

Possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skills

Experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment and/or equipment used processing plants

Experience in operation and maintenance of an excavator preferred

Possess effective coordination and communication skills

Operates the excavator within the company guidelines and safety standards

Have good working knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Be highly skilled at digging around obstacles, i.e. gas lines, water lines, and others as encountered.

Grease equipment each working day prior to use.

Check fluid levels on equipment prior to use.

Be capable of digging for grade.

Load/Unload various materials from delivery trucks.

Operate excavators to dig trenches, move materials, and grade surfaces.

Understand and follow safety regulations and company policies.

Perform routine maintenance on the excavator, such as checking fluid levels and lubricating parts.

Maneuver the excavator around obstacles and confined spaces.

Operate the excavator with precision and accuracy.

Load and unload materials from the excavator.

Ensure trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade and meets OH&S requirements.

One year of excavator experience.

Knowledge of the provisions of the Texas Motor Vehicle Code relating to operation of heavy motorized equipment.

Skill/Ability to operate heavy equipment effectively and safely

Maintain Texas driver’s license applicable to job responsibilities and good driving record.

Must have strong verbal communication skills, ability to read and write.

Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.

Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.

Experience with construction equipment preferred.
